What We Do
In the 1970s, overlanding in Australia meant relying on homemade 4x4 gear that often failed in the harsh Outback. Anthony Ronald Brown (Tony) saw this firsthand on a trip to the Top End. Determined to create better equipment, he began fabricating durable roof racks in his parent’s garage. His quality designs quickly gained traction, and with his brothers’ help, ARB was born.
ARB expanded beyond roof racks into suspension, recovery gear, and camping equipment. In the late 1980s, they acquired Old Man Emu and introduced the Air Locker to the U.S. They also pioneered rugged fridge freezers, roof-top tents, and round driving lights.
ARB remains committed to durability and reliability, prioritizing quality over trends. From early innovations to modern products like the hydraulic jack, ARB continues to equip adventurers with gear they can trust—staying true to its origins.
